We understand the complexity of leading teams that never meet

Because we have lived that reality ourselves. Our methods were born from actual challenges, not academic exercises.

Professional working team

How wild-myth started

In 2019, our founder led his first fully distributed team, spread across five time zones. Despite extensive experience in traditional leadership, the result was chaotic. Missed deadlines, silence in important discussions, and a feeling of never quite knowing how the team was doing.

What began as a personal challenge became a deep dive into research on distributed work. After testing dozens of frameworks and interviewing leaders from companies like Automattic, GitLab, and Zapier, an insight emerged: what works requires fundamentally new mental models.

Wild-myth was founded to translate these insights into concrete, implementable methods. We don't train leaders to "adapt" traditional techniques. We build competence from the ground up, based on how distributed teams actually function.

Team at work

Our teaching philosophy

We do not believe in generic frameworks that claim to work in all contexts. Instead, our programs are built on three principles:

Contextual adaptation. Leading a design team differs from leading a sales team. We use real scenarios from your industry, not made-up examples.

Implementable knowledge. Every concept is followed by a tool you can use Monday morning. Theory without practical application has no value.

Continuous iteration. Distributed leadership is not something you "learn" and then you're done. We give you structures to continuously evaluate and improve your methods.

Collaboration and discussion

What makes our approach different

Most leadership training focuses on charisma, presence, and direct conversations. These skills are valuable, but in a distributed context, they have limited effect.

Instead, we train skills that are rarely discussed: writing communication that is not misunderstood, designing decision-making processes that work asynchronously, identifying signals of problems before they escalate, and building trust without physical interaction.

Our participants learn to lead through structure rather than personality, through clarity rather than conviction. This is no less human, just adapted to how modern teams actually work.

Research as a foundation

Our programs are built on published research in organizational psychology, communication theory, and cultural intelligence. We reference studies from leading institutions and continuously update our material as new evidence emerges.

This means you will never hear "this works because we've always done it this way". Every method can be traced back to empirical evidence or documented practice from leading distributed organizations.
